Future and Health: UC Davis Health CIO and CDO Summit

The role of the Chief Information Officer (CIO) has fundamentally changed over the last 20 years. The new technological wave in digital health and medicine requires the CIOs to broaden their role, to interact with, oversee and most importantly, develop innovation within the healthcare system. However, there is no clear roadmap for digital transformation that applies to all organizations and CIOs have to take on the role of CDOs, Chief Innovation Officers or Chief Transformation Officers or have to develop meaningful partnerships with them. During this summit, we will discuss how leading healthcare organizations are creating structures to scale digital transformation and investment in digital health, through real world examples. The Next Frontiers in Value-Based Care Technology:  How New Population Health, Digital Health, and Next Generation RPM and Diagnostics Technologies Can Accelerate the Value

Over the past decade, there has been an extraordinary amount of investment in population health analytics to help inform the transition to value-based care. A second generation of population health companies are focused on either a targeted set of technical capabilities or conditions as their path to differentiation. In parallel, second and third generation digital health, RPM and advanced medical technology and diagnostics companies are increasingly focused on how they can demonstrate accountability for cost and quality outcomes in ways that establish their seat at the table in value-based care. In these sessions, attendees will hear from some of the trailblazers in the development and deployment of technology to accelerate the shift towards value-based care.
